Meet Brian. When we think success, Brian always comes to mind. Brian was referred to OWL for job placement and work adjustment services to assist him in overcoming some barriers to employment. He participated in work adjustment at OWL for 4 months. During this time, Brian was assisted in gathering his work history and creating a resume and cover letter. He also learned interviewing techniques and job development skills. As a result of Brian’s hard work, he was offered and accepted a full time position as a Printing Operator at Beasley’s Digital Printing in June 2013. Brian graduated from his programs in January 2014. He currently is receiving health insurance thru his employer and earning a livable wage. Not only is Brian successful in his own recovery, but he is also giving back to the community in several ways. He serves as the director for a Sober Living/Halfway house, here in Lexington called Grace Place and plans to open another sober living house in January 2015. Brian is also a public speaker and uses his own story of overcoming barriers to find success and recovery to encourage and motivate others to take the first step in pursuing their own recovery. We are honored to have had the opportunity to get to know and support such an inspiring individual as Brian.
