Meet Aaron. He is the true definition of a determined individual! Aaron was referred to OWL in April 2013 after experiencing significant barriers to employment as a result of a serious car accident in 2005. Aaron lost a limb in the accident which prevented him from returning to his former employment. However, the word "can’t” was not in his vocabulary. Aaron worked at OWL in our work adjustment (paid training) program, where his production rate was outstanding at 80%-120%, and his quality was 100%! Aaron successfully completed OWL’s LEAN Manufacturing Classes and forklift training program and is now a certified forklift operator. Aaron accepted a full-time, forklift position at Easy Gardner in Paris, KY. Aaron did very well there, but unfortunately, was laid off after 8 months of employment. Aaron could have applied for unemployment, but he was determined to get back to work. He immediately contacted his Employment Coordinator at OWL and requested assistance in finding a new job. The Employment Coordinator assisted him in applying for a position at Vuteq in Georgetown, KY. Aaron was interviewed and hired in September 2014 as a Forklift Operator. Aaron states that he really enjoys his job at Vuteq and plans on working his way up in the coming years. Aaron sets the example of perseverance and determination for all who know him, and we are grateful for the privilege to be part of his success!
