Opportunity for Work & Learning (OWL) is a work-oriented community rehabilitation program providing vocational services to individuals in the central Kentucky area. Services are designed to assist persons with significant barriers to employment to set and reach their vocational goals.
Since its beginning in 1961, OWL has worked with persons with disabilities to find and keep work with businesses in the community. To do this, OWL has maintained a close working relationship with employers, and with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation as well as other agencies and associations that serve people with disabilities. In the past few years, OWL's mission statement was broadened to include persons who may also be unemployed due to other significant barriers. Over the years, our commitment to provide services that meet local employers' needs by closely matching jobs and participants has allowed many central Kentuckians to increase their independence and become a part of the working community.
