Kim Clay was referred to the OWL Center with the ultimate goal of obtaining a job in the community. In order to achieve this goal she first needed guidance in looking for a job and a current work reference. The OWL Center was the perfect place for Kim because she was able to receive the assistance she needed to secure a well-fitting job, while working at OWL’s manufacturing center, LMC and earning income. When asked how her participation in the OWL Center Program helped her, she responded, “It gave me my confidence back.” She also said that the program helped her stay motivated throughout her job search. After 8 weeks at OWL, Kim accepted a full-time job as a Financial Collector for Credit Bureau Systems that pays $10/hour, plus commission. Over a year later, Kim still holds this position. Her hard work has enabled her to move into a place of her own and purchase a car so that she is no longer entirely dependent on public transportation.
