General Description: The purpose of this program is to provide support for individuals seeking gainful employment, as well as for individuals working to maintain employment. Employment services provide opportunities for the consumer to become knowledgeable of strengths, learning styles, compensatory learning strategies and accommodations relative to their area of interest in the job market.
Program Goal: The goal is to provide individualized services that lead to an individual's successful job placement and retention. Job placement assistance is provided on an individual basis as well as the group support of Job Club. Job coaching and retention services are utilized as needed to assist the individual in maintaining long-term employment.
Referral Procedure: Individuals referred must meet general admission criteria to SEEC. Referrals are generally made during Vocational Evaluation Staffings or Assessments.
Services Provided: Services are provided on an as needed basis with one on one assistance from a specialized SEEC employment counselor. An individual may participate in all or some of the following:
- Career exploration and vocational counseling
- Job seeking skills, training, including resume writing, job application assistance, job leads, etc.
- Job coaching, if indicated
- Coordination of community resources, such as childcare, and transportation referrals
- Job placement and follow-up services
