Rehab Who We Are

OWL is a work-oriented community rehabilitation program providing vocational services to individuals in the central Kentucky area. Services are designed to assist persons with significant barriers to employment to set and reach their vocational goals.

Since its beginning in 1961, OWL has worked with persons with disabilities to find and keep work with businesses in the community. To do this, OWL has maintained a close working relationship with employers, and with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation as well as other agencies and associations that serve people with disabilities. In the past few years, OWL's mission statement was broadened to include persons who may also be unemployed due to other significant barriers. Over the years, our commitment to provide services that meet local employers' needs by closely matching jobs and participants has allowed many central Kentuckians to increase their independence and become a part of the working community.

CARF has accredited the following OWL services: Comprehensive Vocational Evaluation, Job Development, Job-Site Training, Job Supports and Employee Development.

VISION STATEMENT
We, the staff of the OWL Center of OWL, Inc., believe in the empowerment of, and opportunity for, everyone through work and learning. We work so others can too.

We provide quality professional services strongly driven by consumer and employer preferences leading to successful vocational preparation and placement.

We recognize that consumer needs often exceed immediate vocational concerns. We seek collaboration with other community resources as an effective means of meeting these needs.

We listen to our consumers, referral sources, and community employers in order to keep our services innovative.

We call on the greater community to assist OWL in meeting this vision.

VALUES STATEMENT
We work together to achieve the following core values: mutual trust and respect, education and awareness, an expansion of options toward an individual’s informed choice, accountability and responsibility, open and honest communication, accessibility to supervisors, staff, and services, a commitment to growth and a belief that with expectations, hard work and perseverance everyone can succeed.
